Nerve Entrapment Treatment

The brain and spinal cord receive and send information back and forth through nerves and sensory receptors. The information sent to organs or muscles is transmitted through nerves. The nerves travel to the upper and lower extremities and cross the various joints along their paths. Unfortunately, these nerves can become compressed or entrapped at various regions of the extremities, especially at the “tunnel regions,” where they may be predisposed or vulnerable to compression. Nerves can be compressed by different structure of the body including bone, muscle and fascia.

Common causes of nerve entrapment include:

  • Misaligned bones
  • Overuse or Repetitive Strain
  • Prolonged Position
  • Nerve-Entrapment

Chiropractic care can help nerve entrapments in these areas:

  • Radial Nerve Entrapment
  • Ulnar Nerve Entrapment
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Piriformis Syndrome

Symptoms of peripheral nerve entrapment manifest as follows:

  • Irritative or inflamed tissue
  • Pain
  • Paresthesia
  • Numbness
  • Weakness and atrophy
  • Burning
  • Tingling
